Aquaponics IBC

This is my recycled IBC aquaponics system. It has 60 blue tilapia as good as multiform varieties of nautical plants. Fish have been you do good as good as flourishing as good as a steep weed though any plants which we medical operation in to a grow bed solemnly turn dark in tone as good as really unbending in a future dying. The pH in a complement is really tall 8.2 as good as we have been catastrophic in obscure it with pH down. we think a tall pH is preventing a plants from up receiving nutrients though we am really latest to aquaponics as good as fish. Any assistance is GREATLY appreciated. Could it additionally be probable there aren’t sufficient nutrients in a complement ie not sufficient food? we hold a tank has been cycled for multiform weeks right away ammonia, nitrite, as good as nitrate levels all review during 0 ppm. Shouldn’t a nitrate levels be aloft or have been a plants regulating up all a nitrates?

Thank? you so much for your comments and help everyone! The system is doing much better now and I am beginning to see some noticeable growth. The pH down def helped. Thanks again everyone for your time and insight.
oh, I forgot….air rating the tank is a must, but through air ration of water pH goes up a bit also. i find that gravel tends to make the pH go up also, I switch to Hydroton (expanded clay pebbles) since it has a more neutral pH to begin with.?
pH swings are related to Total Alkalinity levels. get TA within range and pH swings will become more stable. (Pool Guy here: TA range 80-120 ppm). I think? that this can be applied to any bodies of water. For AquaPonic system, I recommend to adjust TA by introducing pH down solution sparingly, until pH eventually begins to stabilize (mine took about 4 weeks through testing the water and adjusting accordingly). Just my .02. just remember, water likes to balance itself out.
My system is about 3 months old ph 8 with gravel, i found ph down works if you dont cycle or move the water. this is no help? with the fish. you should be adding some sea weed extract every week or 10 days and start your own plants from seed in it they seem to do better.
Just? have to keep at it. New Systems are fussy. What was th PH of the water you started with?
my ph was like that in my system. i think it is normal for new systems.? I just rolled with it for acouple months then i started hitting it with ph down little by little. dont move it too much at one time. I heard no more then .5 a day. I used alot of ph down. I think i added about .5 fl oz everyday for like 5 days. While mine was high my lettuce still grew good but it was bolted, not sure if that was related to ph though. Good luck.
