The complete grow bed was bottom bound. we was advise about this, yet still never ever yet it would be as bad as it was. Any how we took this event to utterly rip down this complement to see what was operative rightly as good as what indispensable improvement. First thing was a grow media. Replacing it with Hydroton. Tired of fighting with a pH being to high. This time a grow beds will have about 2 in. of Red Lava stone during a bottom as good as about 6 inches of Hydroton. Also had a trickle during a bottom of a single of a bell siphons which was means problems. One of my oregano plant in a alternative grow bed was you do smashing as good as a alternative was only removing by. Apon serve investigation a plant which was you do good was a a single we got all a mud off a bottom when we transplanted it in to a system. The a single which wasn’t you do good we didn’t purify as well. Note to self do not do which again… hehehe we have changed a fish to my garage complement for right away since a pH was a closest to a H2O they were in. Poor fish have been starting to have to go thru this again with which complement as well carrying pH problems in which complement to. we have no internal source of Hydroton so we additionally starting to exam out a little alternative grow media which we can source internal prior to we repair my garage system. Well I had other systems at the time… Mint plant I save one cutting and? you see what I have today… Another huge plant. Mint is the only thing in that grow bed now nothing else has a chance there. That is also why it is in a very small grow bed all by it self. How would you like to have to redo a 2 foot by 4 foot grow bed because you planted Mint in it. Think I’ll pass on that one…
When cleaning your grow beds, where do you put the existing plants so that they don’t die? What a pain to clean all that mint root! I heard it’s a monster in aquaponic systems, and you’ve proven that nicely! Looks? like you should just have a grow bed only dedicated to mint so that it doesn’t overtake anything else you plant in there (like your poor tomato plant). – Jeff
Yeaper that why they put worm? in there grow beds. But I really don’t think anything like that can keep up with MINT. I planted that mint on july 4 of this year. My grow bed with the mint in it was root bound…
wow thats amazing, i think this? is why people say to add red worms to your system to eat all the dead organic matter. well i better find some for my system, i know this takes time to happen, but WOW!!!!!!!!!!!
